Veterinary clinical refractometer for Urine Specific Gravity Serum Protein
Clinical Protein Refractometer, urine hydrometer, used for pets and urine test.
This optical refractometer has a scale in the range of 0 - 12 g/100 ml for measurement of urine serum protein.
The reading resolution is 0.2 g/100 ml.
The second scale for measurement of urine specific gravity in the range of 1.000 - 1.050 has the resolution 0.005.
The third scale in the range of 1.3325 - 1.3600 RI is designed for the measurement of refractive index. The resolution is 0.0005 RI.
Scale / characteristic Scale Range Resolution
Serum protein 0 to 12 g/100 ml 0.2 g/100 ml
Urine specific gravity 1.000 to 1.050 0.005
Refractive index 1.3325 to 1.3600 RI 0.0005 RI
The specific gravity of urine can be measured with a special hydometer so-called urinometer. Measuring by this refractometer is simplier - you need only a few drops of urine
and you need not use a temperature compensation table.
Measurement
The measurement is very easy. Place a few drops of the urine on the optical part of the refractometer, cover the prism (the urine will spread more easily over the prism), look throught the eyepiece against the light (focus, if necessary) and you will be able to read the result value on the scale.
Specification :
· reference temperature 20 C centigrade
· ATC - automatic temperature compensation (compensation range 0 ~ 30 C centigrade)
